Zig markers are da bomb and so easy to use!
Penny Black stamp with Zig clean color markers
Zig clean color markers are a fast and easy way to make gorgeous Christmas cards.
I used another gorgeous stamp from Penny Black. A combination of distress inks and Zig clean color markers were used directly to the stamp. Spritz the stamp with some water and then directly stamp onto your preferred paper. I played around with different colors, reds, browns, touch of green, to see how they would play together for a winter scene. Maybe a little too much green for the middle of winter, but I say I’m dreaming of summer already. Shadows were dropped in for the trees using Copics. Copics darkened the edges of the trees as well to increase the depth and dimension of the grove of trees.
Copics and water based markers play very well together. Copics are alcohol based whereas Zigs are waterbased which prevents each of them from reacting with the other.
The snow was created with UTEE and heated from the underside. Heating from the underside prevents all of the powder from blowing all over the place. This is my favorite way of creating snow as it appears a little more natural to my eye.
We surely got hit with a blast from old man winter last week, and soon we will be getting too much of the white stuff and only the ski resorts are going to be happy. At least I can try and make winter as beautiful as watercolor possible.
I’m working on the next schedule of classes, so stayed tuned to see what I’ve come up with for the Jan-March schedule. Suggestions for classes you would like to see on the schedule? Give me a shout out. I’d love to hear from you.
Until next time!
