Welcome to a snowman Monday everyone!
I was cleaning up my hell hole also known as my art/crafting room and looked up and lo and behold this cutie snowman was staring at me or shall I say it felt like glare. Ok, I’ll put your little stick arm back on after your tumble from atop the ink pad holders! And then I realized, oh I hadn’t told the world about this great little project.
He started out as a plain ol’ brown wooded snowman that needed some paint, paper and a little bling bling to make him ready. You can find a lot of these fun painting/decorating projects at Simple Pleasures Stamp and Scrapbooking in Colorado Springs. You don’t need any special skills or talents (well maybe a little patience with yourself), and just a few supplies and voila! A few tips for this particular project I discovered along the way.
Uh the scarf can go on either side of the body. Lay out the pieces and how you want them to be attached before painting and cutting the paper. You want perfectly shaped dots while working with acrylic paints? Use the round end of the brush handle. And definitely figure out where you want the buttons. Do this before you go slopping things on so your OCD alignment issues don’t kick in.
And the biggest tip of all, to securely attach those little pin arms? Don’t paint over the holes so much that you have to use a picker tool to dig out the dried paint. I recommend putting a toothpick in the holes prior to painting. If you want to paint his skinny arms white, attach those prior to painting.
I added snow to his hat and the heart for more fun. I used the snow writing pen and of course as I’m typing I can’t remember the manufacturer!
It’s a glorious, glorious day. It felt like this school break went on forever, but both kids are finally back to school, and I’m free, I’m free! We can finally all get back to a routine and into a routine. Thanks for stopping in and visiting for a bit. I hope everyone has a fantabulous week!
